The SMD2018 is a full size machine that is constructed using a robust but lightweight die cast aluminium internal chassis and sturdy outer housing. The powerful 70 watt motor is ideal for larger projects such as curtains with sewing speeds up to 800 stitches per minute. An integrated sewing light illuminates the sewing area to relieve eye strain.
The straightforward controls will appeal to the novice and because the SMD2018 is a 3 dial machine, IE it allows the adjustment of length and width completely independently of stitch selection, and is therefore much more than an entry-level machine.

• Automatic Buttonholes
  Load the button into the buttonhole foot and the SMD2018 will measure the buttonhole required, stitching it out to match the size of the button. Perfect buttonholes in seconds, each one an exact size of the other.

• Electronic Foot Control
  Allows you to accurately control the sewing speed. Even at low speeds, this new type of foot control generates less heat than conventional resistor type versions improving long term reliability.

• Needle Threader
  This feature is a real time saver. Engage the needle threader behind the needle and a small hook locates through the eye of the needle. The thread is then taken around the guide and the needle threader released. Result - a needle threaded in seconds.

• Adjustable Foot Pressure
  Rather than just one "automatic" foot pressure, the SMD2018 allows you to regulate the pressure down onto the fabric, making it much more versatile. Delicate lightweight fabrics can be stitched on the minimum setting, avoiding the possibility of marking the fabric. For heavyweights, turn the foot pressure to the maximum allowing the feed dogs to get maximum grip resulting in perfect even stitches.

• Hard Cover
  Protects your machine from knocks and scrapes. A slot in the top for the handle means your machine is still portable, even with the cover in place.

• Drop Feed
  For those who like to express their creativity with free hand embroidery. Drop the feed dogs leaving you in full control. Or use traditionally for darning.

• Quick Release Foot Holder
  To change the presser foot, simply lift the lever and activate the button and the foot will detach. To attach the another foot, line the foot up with the foot holder and lower the presser bar. Easy!!
